She/her/they/them
Megan Michele Sanders (formerly Carey), also known as Perpetual Sketch, grew up in Philadelphia and attended Kutztown University of PA where she completed her BFA with an Art History minor and concentration in Drawing. She is now living in the South NJ area with her partner but enjoys the travel to or from either side of the bridge.
Perpetual Sketch derives from always being a constant scribbler and taking appreciation to acknowledge those scribbles as pieces to be appreciated as their own. Some of those scribbles become a part of drawing, mixed media or digital pieces while others become the foundational blueprints for physical objects and ideas to come in other mediums.
In the work, Megan focuses on the act of making as an important component in the result along with themes of anxiety, depression, grief, irony, sarcasm, nostalgia, pop culture and feminism.
